The NWS has issued a Weather Alert due to water that is ponding upon roadways.

CLOGGED STORM DRAINS LEADING TO LOCALIZED PONDING WATER… 

SEVERAL PUBLIC REPORTS OF PONDING WATER ON ROADWAYS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED DUE TO SNOW AND ICE CLOGGING STORM DRAINS AS MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN CONTINUES ACROSS THE REGION. THE COMBINATION OF SLUSH ON ROADS AND HEAVY RAIN WILL RESULT IN SEVERAL MORE HOURS OF RUNOFF AND PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS DUE TO CLOGGED STORM DRAINS. ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION THIS MORNING AND EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. 

IN ADDITION…GUSTY SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL OCCUR FROM TIME TO TIME, AS WARMER AIR WORKS INTO THE AREA. WINDS WILL BE ESPECIALLY GUSTY NEAR MOUNTAIN AREAS AND ACROSS THE MIDDLE AND LOWER SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. WIND GUST TO 40 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE. SMALL TREE LIMBS MAY BREAK OFF IN AREAS THAT RECEIVED FREEZING RAIN OVERNIGHT. CONDITIONS SHOULD IMPROVE BY EARLY AFTERNOON…AS TEMPERATURES REMAIN ABOVE FREEZING.
