A “Night of Music for Sarah” will be held this Monday, November 30th, at the Minersville Area High School.
Seventeen year old Reiley Lonergan- a MAHS junior- will host the event which will benefit classmate Sarah Ricigliano, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor last month.
Reiley will be joined onstage by talented singers from the Minersville Area School District Soloists which include Minersville Area High School students Josh Donley, Ian Sabol, Kylee Agnello, Jackie Krevis, Hannah Studlack, Kate Kramer and Becky Andruchek as well as Minersville alumni Kane Heffron and Kayla Sabol. Also taking part are sisters Ava and Ella Frantz who will sing a duet while Cadence Artz, Rylee Denion and Emily Hart will sing a trio.
Also taking part are the “Spotlight Kidz” of the Pottsville Gymnastics & Theatrical Center, Inc.- of which Reiley is a member of as well as the Choir Ensemble from Minersville High School.
Reiley is thankful also to the area businesses, organizations and individuals who have made donations of money and raffle prize gifts as well as helping with the event.
In addition to local help, Reiley, who has studied musical theater in New York City, has received the help of the Broadway community. Some of the items donated by Broadway friends include 2 Orchestra seats to the hit shows “LES MISERABLES” and “PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.” Other prizes include full-cast autographed playbills, autographed CD’s, show posters and more. The most recent donation is from actor Matthew Broderick, who has donated a signed poster from his recent show.
Reiley is no stranger to hosting benefit events. At ten years old, Reiley hosted “A Night of Music for Tina,” which benefited cancer patient Tina Dixon. This show- held at the Majestic Theater- played to a full house. Seven years later, Reiley continues to use the musical talents given to her to help others.
The show begins at 6:00 p.m. Doors to the school will open at 4:30 p.m. for food and raffles. The auditorium will open at 5:30 p.m.
