Chinese Auction to be Held to Help Family of ATV Crash Victim

A Chinese Auction is being organized in memory of Martina Barnhart, who passed away over the weekend as a result of a tragic Side by Side Crash. 

All proceeds from this event will go towards everyday costs for her 3 children that she left behind, and to help defray the costs of her funeral.

The Auction will be held on Friday, July 14th and Saturday, July 15th. More times and details will be announced on this website in the upcoming days. 

The event will be held at the New Minersville Fire Company; 500 Line Street, Minersville, PA 17954. 

There will be food and a bake sale at this event.

GoFundMe Page Setup for ATV Crash Victims Family

A GoFundMe Page has been created to help a local family who lost one of there own. 

Martina Barnhart, 31, of New Minersville, was tragically killed over the weekend in a Side by Side accident. 

Martina was a loving and caring mother, who left behind her partner, Jeremy, and three children; Marques Gregory Barnhart, and twin girls, Kylie Miles and Kendelynn Marie Kralick. 

Donations will be used to help with funeral costs and for every day items for the kids.

All and any donations would be greatly appreciated by this family.

Branch Township Booster Club to Hold Chicken BBQ this Weekend

The Llewellyn Boy/Cub and Girl Scouts are selling  Kauffman’s Chicken BBQ this weekend at the Llewellyn Elementary Center.  A meal is $7.50 (half chicken, baked potato, and roll).

There will also be a bake sale and 50/50 going on.

Donations will also be accepted

5th Annual Rally in the Irish Valley To Be Held

The 5th Annual Rally in the Irish Valley ATV Poker Run will be hosted by Minersville Fire-Rescue and Clover Fire Company on Saturday June 3rd, 2017.

The trail opens at 8:00AM.

The last riders need to be on the trail by 1:00PM, and everyone must be off the trail by 5:00PM.

The trail will start from the Clover Fire Company (located on 8 Clover Rd, Pottsville PA 17901).

Helmets are a must for every rider on every machine, no exceptions. (If you do not have a helmet, you will not be permitted on the trail.)

There will be camping available in and around the fire company. This will be on a first come first serve basis and is open from the Thursday prior to the event through Sunday. Small campfires will be permitted.

There will be MFR Block Party Pizza for sale on Friday night, and a full menu of food Saturday throughout the day.

T-Shirts will be available for sale the day of the event.\

Also, Boy Scout Troop 600 will be on the trail serving hot dogs and refreshments (water, soda, Guers Tea, etc, so please stop in and support them as well!

Block Shoot Being Held to Help Benefit Minersville 5th Quarter Club

A Block Shoot is being held, in which portions will benefit the Minersville 5th Quarter Club.

The block shoot will be held Saturday, April 8th, from noon to 5:00pm.

Admission is $8.00 except for children under 10. The cost for them will be $5.00. 

There will be many types of food and prizes.

Two Men Steal a Package From Porch on Carbon Street

Police are trying to identify two men, one who of which who was caught on camera stealing a package off a mans porch in Minersville earlier today.

Police are asking for trying to identify the two men. If anybody is able to identify, call the Minersville Police at 570-544-6212.

Local Boy Scout Troop Cleans-Up in Branch Township 

Boy Scout Troop 600 of Llewellyn was found cleaning up trash along the roads in part of Branch Township on Sunday afternoon.

They picked up trash and litter from the intersection of Phoenix Park Road and Clay Street in Llewellyn to the Phoenix Road and Main Street Intersection in Phoenix Park, and from that intersection to the Life Flight Center at 901.

Lady Miners Become AA State Champs

This Thursday afternoon at the Hershey Giant Center, the Minersville Area Lady Miners defeated the Bishop McCort Lady Crushers with an outstanding final score of 63-49, winning the PIAA AA Girls State Title!
The Lady Miners finish the season undefeated, with a record of 31-0. The girls will bring the Schuylkill League it’s 18th Championship.
